What exactly does the term quarantine mean in the U.S. (150 days) and for the 30day period in Australia? Can the pet be at home under "house quarantine" or is it in a government kennel all that time? Thanks, Shelley

Hi Shelley! Thanks for your question. The pre-export quarantine in the US for Australia is 180 days (not 150 days) and this can be done at your home. Your pet will need to have the necessary blood tests and rabies vaccinations prior to this quarantine period beginning. After 180 days, your pet can travel to Australia. Upon arrival in Australia, there is a 30 day quarantine period that is done in an approved government quarantine facility. You are allowed to visit your pet and the kennels are typically AC/heated. The facilities are quite nice!
