During this time of year and with the Holiday season in full swing, we are constantly getting calls and inquiries from people who want to purchase puppies for their relatives as gifts!
To me, choosing a pet is a personal thing. Someone desiring a new dog or cat must have an emotional connection with the creature they will be spending the next fifteen or twenty years with. For this reason, and others, it is never a good idea to surprise someone with a pet as a gift.

AVID Microchips - Clarification!

A reader of ours has recently pointed out a bit of confusion on our part and the postings we have done in the past on the AVID Microchip.
Here is her response as she sent it as she brings up some great points!
I read your blog regarding Avid chips being ISO compliant. This is an outdated fact and the only chips that meet ISO criteria are a 134kHz microchip.

Please be advised of the amended list of countries that DO NOT require the Rabies Titre test when importing pets to the UAE. This test is also know as the 'Certificate for Rabies Serum Neutralization test' - Please be advised, The certificate should be from governmental laboratory or accredited laboratory .
