Texas Woman to Rescue 30,000 Wild Equines from Slaughter

Madeleine Pickens, wife of Texas oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, has plans to create a massive refuge for about 30,000 wild horses and burros to avoid having the federal government kill or sell the animals for financial reasons.

Mrs. Pickens said Tuesday she wants to buy 1 million acres for the project. Her announcement came after the U.S. Bureau of Land Management said it was considering whether to euthanize some of the animals.

Faced with growing reports of exotic snakes and reptiles roaming the wilds of Florida and competing with native animals, state wildlife officials have made it easier for exotic pet owners to give up pets they no longer want.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will conduct one of its "pet amnesty days" on Saturday at the Jacksonville Zoo.

We have two cats and we live in Spain. We want to transport them from Spain to the USA. Can you please advise how we go about this and what services are available. We have them vaccinated for rabies and the usual cat vacs, but not the blood test, so we cannot take them into the UK.

So, we need a way of transporting them to Florida from Malaga without entering the UK.

New Required Health Documents for Pets Going to India

There is a new certificate for dogs and cats going to India from the US.

This certificate reiterates many of the statements on the normal health certificate, however it is still a requirement for the USDA to stamp the documents.
