From PetTravelCenter.com's Ask the Pet Relocation Expert feature.

Question:

Hi, I'm moving back to the US with my husband and dog next week. I'm worried because I haven't found a vetenarian who has and can insert an ID chip in Tunisia. What are the rules for traveling from Tunisia to US with a stopover in Rome? Do I still need the ID chip or not?

Moving to India with Pets and Feeling Apprehensive? You're Not Alone

By Pet Relocation | December 4th, 2008

We've had an influx of clients moving to India with their pets over the last few months -- Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi have been hot destinations but we've also facilitated several moves to Pune and Hyderabad as well. Relocating pets to India is no small task. While the availability of "pet safe" flights is very good going to India (we typically arrange pet safe flights with Continental when going to New Delhi and Mumbai, and utilize Lufthansa's live animal cargo program for flights to Chennai), the import requirements and customs clearance process can be quite confusing.
