The AP is reporting that Hungary is now being affected by the trade union strikes:

BUDAPEST, Hungary: Trade unions at Hungary's main airport are on strike, leading to the delay or cancellation of dozens of flights.

Today a Spokane, WA woman who tried to smuggle a monkey on a flight from Thailand to Los Angeles was convicted of smuggling charges. As always, we remind our readers that monkeys are illegal as pets -- the only way to ship them is if they are being used for research or educational purposes.

Unfortunately, Australia has very strict requirements regarding the import of pet birds. Any birds not coming from New Zealand with the exception of pigeons are not allowed to be imported into Australia due to bird flu scares.
