To start, please review the pet import requirements for New Zealand via the official Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) website. As you'll see when you take a look at the guidance document download, your dog will need a microchip and import permit and an inspection and 10-day quarantine will be required upon arrival. Because there are so many details to attend to -- even when coming from a Category 2 country like Fiji -- we recommend starting the planning process as soon as possible and combing through the website and instructional documents very carefully in order to avoid mistakes and subsequent delays.
