Hello,

I want to bring my dog to China from Long Island, NY next month. I am wondering: what is the price and the process to go to Xi'an? What services are included with a company like yours? What should I do to get started?

Thank You,

Tai

Hi Tai,

Thanks for your inquiry! Moving pets from the United States to China is a process that does require quite a bit of careful preparation. You're working with a pretty tight deadline, so you'll want to get started right away.

Many people choose to hire help for all or part of the process, as clearing customs in China can be tricky. Here is more information about the pet import requirements for China from our site, and here is a checklist via the USDA. Your dog needs a microchip, rabies vaccination and certificate, and an APHIS 7001 (and the documents need to be endorsed by the USDA).

As for general travel advice, here are a few tips to help get you started. If you'd like to find out more about our door-to-door services, please fill out our consultation form. If you were to hire us, we would work with your vet to oversee paperwork and health documents, arrange the flight on a pet-friendly airline, help your dog clear customs upon arrival and deliver him/her to your new home.

Finally, here's a customer story from our blog about a dog named Monty who we moved to China -- sometimes reading about someone else's trip makes you feel better about your own.

Good luck, and please let us know if we can be of further service!
