Pet Travel to Australia Requires Careful Planning

I have two dogs that I would like to take with me to relocate to Australia in January (end of January). Do I follow the instructions as suggested and then board the dogs when we arrive in Australia?

Hi Sonya,

Moving pets to Australia requires that you follow a series of specific steps and pay close attention to timing. Please take a look at the official information about importing pets via the Australia Government Department of Agriculture website. Pets must undergo a 10-day quarantine upon arrival after all vaccine and health document requirements have correctly been fulfilled, and the process usually takes 190 days altogether. 

Unless you have already started this process (microchip implantation, titer test, etc.) and are well on your way to completion, your dogs likely won't be able to travel at the end of next month.
