This was just too great not to go on the blog -- a letter from one of our customers, Will, whose dog Dolly we moved to Brazil from Washington state a few months ago.  We particularly love the PetRelocation t-shirt and are putting it up on our "Where Has your PetRelocation Shirt Been?" page!
Thanks Willand José for trusting us with your Dolly!

To PetRelocation.com:

The sign [in the picture] says:

Caution Street Dog (literally "tin can dog")

Flea ridden

Mangy And

Neurotic

I want to apologize about the long delay in sending the picture of Dolly after her pet transport arrival in Brazil, but we have had a very exciting time getting settled here.

Firstly, the dog arrived in great shape, she was glad to get out of the carrier, but she was in good health and just as loving as ever. My partner José was living in Torres at the time of her flight and drove to Pôrto-Alegre (about 40 miles) to get her at the airport.

Dolly was all over him kissing and wiggling. After my arrival on the 8th of October, we decided that the weather in Rio Grande do Sul (the southernmost state in Brazil) was not to our liking and we moved further North. We found a nice apartment about ½ block from the beach in Itacimirim, a little community about 50k north of Salvador in the state of Bahia.

The weather here is somewhat warmer, though we have had a remarkably bad summer with long days of overcast and frequent driving rain.  Even the locals have been commenting on how bad the summer has been (remember, the seasons are reversed in South America), and they have had extensive flooding in certain areas.

We have not been adversely affected here on the beach, but many people are flooded out in Salvador and there have been several severe landslides with loss of homes. They are accusing me of having brought the Washington weather with me, but, even in Washington State, we never had the intense driving rains there have been here!  The temperature doesn't change much between summer and winter, but summer is called the wet season and winter the dry season, and so far summer has really lived up to its wet reputation.

The bare feet in the picture are typical, but I did put on your T-shirt just for the picture . . . shorts only are the order of the day in Bahia, and even when you go into town you get dressed up by putting on rubber sandals!

I would not hesitate to recommend your pet relocation service to anyone considering a move, even internationally.  There was a flight delay as I understand it when changing planes in Texas and the dog was taken into the air-conditioned shipping office so she would not be exposed and suffer in the heat.

That is the type of loving care animals in transport require and you provide. Changing homes is a great psychological trauma for a pet and your care helps to reduce that stress.

Thank you for loving our Dolly,

Misterwill
