Dear PetRelocation,

I may be looking at a job in Toronto for two years but heard I may have to quarantine my dogs if I do. Is that true??

Thanks,
Molly

Hi Molly,

Thanks for your question. Many pet owners assume that traveling internationally automatically involves a quarantine, but most of the time this isn't the case. Going from the United States to Canada with pets means following these import requirements, and if carried out correctly, your dogs won't face a quarantine.

Microchips are recommended, and your dogs will definitely need to be up to date on their rabies vaccines and have the designated paperwork in order. If you have questions about any of this and would like to enlist some help with your move, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Feel free to browse through our blog for more information about traveling with pets, and good luck with everything!
