flying your pets

Yesterday, the new airline being marketed as the first pets-only airline, PetAirways, was on Good Morning America.  You can watch the video here.  In actuality, there was another pet airline that got similar buzz called Companion Air,  a few years ago. Unfortuantely, this Florida upstart, after a large amount of initial funding and press, was not able to get off the ground.

If you're planning on flying your pets, it's important to know that when it comes to airlines, not all are created equal.  Many start-up pet airline companies have sprung up over the years, but none have managed to get off the ground, so to speak.  If you're going to travel on a commercial airline, here are some tips on selecting the most pet friendly airlines:
