National Pet Dental Month Kicks Off Today

By Pet Relocation | February 1st, 2010

Today marks the beginning of National Pet Dental Health Month, an effort by the AVMA to raise awareness about periodontal (gum) disease in pets, which is the number one most diagnosed disease in dogs and cats. By the age of just two, 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease.

As part of Pet Dental Health Month, the AVMA is asking for photo submissions of YOUR pet's pearly white teeth.  They can be submitted and showcased through their Pearly White Pets Flickr group.

For more details on how you can help keep your pet's teeth clean and shiny, check out the Pet Dental website sponsored by Hill's.
