This "sniffer dog" that went missing during the heat of battle has been reunited with her handler after being lost in the Afghanistan desert for 14 months.

From the Daily Mail:
We received notice of the Wysong Pet Food Recall on LinkedIn today.

A new Austin, Texas company has let sushi go to the dogs -- literally! SAD Dog Sushi is marketing a new "Species Appropriate Diet" for dogs in the form of raw, grain-free foods made into sushi plates for pooches.
As a recent convert to eating only grass-fed meats, this seems ideal to me if you're concerned about the long-term ill-effects of feeding your pet "over-the-counter" pet food. Many dietary problems like kidney and liver infections are often the results of feeding poor quality foods.
If you thought the woman renting out a business class cabin to travel wih her pet was impressive, just wait until you read this. Talk about first class pet travel:
If you're in Rome and looking for a way to get out of the heat, why not check out Bau Beach, Rome's best dog park by the sea.
The organiser of Bau Beach, Pierpaolo Azzone, offers pets water and bins of food. Most pet owners seem to appreciate the gesture - there were over 3,000 dogs regsistered there in the first month. Before being turned into Rome's first doggy pool, the area was a disused sports facility.

Koda is an American Miniature Horse who was born as a dwarf, which means that at thirteen months old, he is extra-small (about 59 cm. at the withers) -- not much bigger than a cat!
I came across a great new site today called Animaland, which is run by the ASPCA. It's designed for kids and young adults, helping them sort through the important issues of pet rescue, pet adoption and caring for animals humanely.
Leave it to the UK to start up a new trend! Cara, one of our Asia Pacific specialists told me today about "dog beer," an alcohol-free version of the pint lover's favorite cold one.
What do you think? Would you buy dog beer for your pup?
As an Austin-based company helping pets worldwide, we always love to see great things happening on behalf of pets right here in our own backyard.
Yesterday pet lovers across Austin were thrilled to see that the City of Austin didn't choose to cut or reduce Austin's city-funded free animal spay/neuter/vaccination program, which sterilizes more than 3,000 animals each year, including feral cats. This program is one of the most important tools in the animal activist's plight to make Austin a "no kill" city.
