By Cecilia de CardenasMarch 23, 2009 People seem to be flying for less money than ever these days. And even though you may be charged extra for a snack, a beverage, or checking luggage on your flight (talks to even charge for using the restroom facilities have been made), at least it's possible to make a quick getaway on the cheap. Unfortunately, the same may not hold true if you decide to bring your pet. Airlines seem to be steadily hiking up the cost to fly your furry friends. In recent years, some airlines have more than doubled their original fees for pet passengers.

A Dog’s Guide to His Favorite Bathroom Spots

By Sparky the Mutt Translated by Vladimir Negron April 1, 2009   We dogs may not have the strange habit of using a giant white bowl to dispose of our "accidents," or use clever names the way humans do (the Smell-a-torium, the Tinkle Closet, the Loo, the Relief Station), but we do have our traditions to uphold. I mean, humans don’t even sniff around, check to see if it’s a prime location, or savor the moment when they "go." It’s downright unnatural.   Our pit stops, on the other hand, are our testament.

But never fear, you can indulge in your Hollywood ways by adopting a dog.  Rather than buying a dog from the pet store or a purebred from a breeder, adoption is a great way to feed your humanitarian side. Auto Insurance for Pets

Bits and Bytes   By VLADIMIR NEGRON May 26, 2009   Some U.S. auto insurers are taking the next logical step in the industry and have begun to extend coverage to pets injured or killed in car accidents at no extra charge to customers, including Progressive, Auto-Owners Insurance, and Farmers Insurance. Choosing the Right Size Dog for Your Home

Too big, too small, or just right? Find the puppy that will be a perfect fit for your home.   So you have decided to get a puppy, but you just are not sure which breed will best fit the size of your house (or apartment). Well, before you find yourself paraphrasing any movie clichés like, “This place ain't big enough for the both of us,” you will need to honestly assess how much space you will be able to give this new roommate of yours.   Do not, I repeat, do not base this decision solely on the adorable little puppy you might be cradling in your arms.
