Today we received a few inquiries on moving pets to Bolivia and thought it would make for a great blog!
After a bit of research a few of what I read surprised me. Bolivia, to some, is known as the heart of South America, but you might be surprised to learn that it is often referred to as a “donkey sitting on a mine!” This is largely because of the fact that Bolivia is high on natural resources, but despite this, the country is the one of the poorest in South America.
It is a place where the Andes give away to dense forests, great zoos and bustling towns. Bolivia is revered for its unmatched natural beauty and a lively culture. As the Lonely Planet website puts it, “from trekking the Cordilleras and rafting the Yungas' whitewater to wildlife-watching in the Pantanal and bushwhacking through the Amazon, Bolivia is truly heaven for adventure seekers!” Bolivia is just bursting with its natural wonders and rich culture, with more than half of its people still immersed in traditional beliefs and values. The people of the country are crazy about sports and Bolivia like any other South American country has a well performing national football team.
Not only do they have a love of Football, but many are adapting quick to the love of living with pets! To most, pets are still those wandering dogs that eat the local trash - but to most, especially the Expats, pets are taking their place in Bolivia as they should be - sitting right next to the owner!
