Meet "Artemis," an adorable little dog we moved from Austin, TX to Stavanger, Norway. Artemis has a very loving 'mom' named Lisa who has been keeping a blog of her travels -- all the way from a Sonic drive-thru in Austin to the EU!
Meet Artemis!: Pet Travel to Norway
From L&A Blog:
Tuesday was my last night with Artemis here. So we hung out and took care of some hygiene things - brushing hair and teeth. I fixed up her crate to make sure it had all the labels and prepped. I included a dirty shirt from Austin we've had since March, which probably smells more like Artemis than anything else and a dirty shirt from me.
This morning, we got up early and walked to the trail nearby. I bought a tennis ball so we could play in the tennis courts. However, Artemis found something on the other side of the fence that was indiscernible to me. Much of the ball chasing time was spent with her staring down the something.
Artemis was so excited to meet her new friend who would drive her to Houston to get on her flight to Amsterdam. When she gets to Amsterdam, she'll have about 7 hours between flights. She is flying on KLM and they have a pet hotel.
We could tell by Lisa's blog that she was sad to say goodbye for a little while to Artemis as she went off on her big journey, but shortly after there was an update entitled "Artemis i Norge":
Artemis has made it to Norway! She arrived today at about 6:15, happy, healthy, and hungry. She seems to have had no problems on the trip, and she came out of her crate full of energy and ready to explore her new home. After a little food and some hello scratches, we went on a nice walk around Mosvatnet to let her stretch her legs.
It's never easy to trust a group of strangers with your pet move, but we're glad that Lisa & Austin trusted us with Artemis. We always try to take the best of care of our four-legged clients -- as if they were our own pets -- and Artemis was no exception!
Happy travels to Artemis, Lisa & Austin!
