I will relocate to Ecuador (South America) and definitely am bringing my cat. I hate the idea of shipping her through cargo - is there any airline that would allow me to bring her in cabin during international shipment?
Are there any premium relocation services and what are the advatages vs. shipping your pet cargo? I need to relocate in July and she is a exotic cat (Persian). Thanks, Lissette
Hi Lissette,
If you are looking for an airline who will let your cat travel in cabin, you will need to call the airline you plan on flying with in order to know whether or not they allow pets in cabin.
There's also the newcomer PetAirways, but they're not in operation yet, so their safety record is not yet known, and don't handle international moves. DogTravelCompany offers group charters to various destinations, so you could check with them too. You would still need to go to the trouble of arranging your cat's export paperwork as well.
As for premium pet relocation services, our door-to-door international service could handle your cat's move and the pre-export paperwork. We only use airlines that keep pets in climate-controlled conditions and are set up to handle live animals as cargo, so it would be quite safe. Typically our services start off around $2500 USD for international moves, but we could get you a more exact quote if you'd like. Just click here and fill out our Quote Request form.
Happy pet moving!
