We recently moved a Chinese Crested named Felice from Cleveland to Shanghai, China. Her owner, George, was nice enough to send us this note about the move:
Jillian,
Felice arrived safely, and was very happy to see us.
After taking care of her business outside and drinking and eating, she collapsed and fell fast asleep.
Thanks for all you’ve done. We were very happy with your service and those you contracted with. Eric from Hong Kong even called us when she left Hong Kong for Shenzhen to inform us of her travel status and how she was doing. He even kept her in his house during her stay in Hong Kong. Very nice!
Thanks again.
Best regards,
George D.
You know how they say "She doesn't look a day over thirty?" Well, that's how we feel about Sadie, a beautiful Persian we recently moved from San Francisco, California to Shanghai, China. You'd never know in looking at the pictures that Sadie is actually fifteen years old!
One of our specialists, Cara, helped put together Sadie's move, making things smooth sailing for this elderly cat. It's important to get pets used to their travel crates ahead of time, paticularly when they're older. This helps calm their nerves and ensures smooth travels for them. Her owner, Diana, let us know that crate training was going well with this picture, which was taken before Sadie's big move. She said Sadie had actually enjoyed staying in the crate and sleeping in it.
After the move, we got a nice note from Diana letting us know how Sadie was doing when she arrived on the other side of the globe:
Cara, Thank you so much for making this experience uneventful for us! I am so happy that she made it here as it was a 48 hour journey for us!!! She is such a trooper and am so happy that she made it at her age. I hope she will live to see San Francisco again!
We hope Sadie gets to travel back to San Francisco someday, too! In the meantime, we hope she enjoys living her "golden years" in China!
If you're planning a pet move to Asia, chances are you're feeling a little apprehensive about not only the logistical effort required but also the culture and lifestyle you can expect at your new home overseas. Stella and Gracie are celebrating Christmas in Shanghai this year. We moved them a little over a year ago to Hong Kong, and then again recently from Hong Kong to Shanghai. Here they are dressed up in their holiday finest and don't they look thrilled! We wish them and their family a very Happy Holiday season!

A new study is being reported by China Daily that 50% of new expats to China leave early due to a difficult transition.
China Transition Institute (CTI) president David Israel-Rosen said most foreigners are unprepared for what life will be like when they arrive in China.
"It is moving from the West to the East," he said. "It is not like moving from Chicago to Denver."
Here's an unexpected benefit of Twitter: helping
find homes for pets! At the end of October, a former client of ours named Meaghan found a Chow puppy abandoned in the bushes in Shenzhen, China. We had moved Meaghan's dog Namie to Shenzhen when she took a teaching job in China teaching 8th graders. When Meaghan unable to keep the puppy permanently because she already had another dog, she reached out to us
Whisper and Stubbs are moving from Guangzhou, China to Issaquah, Washington. When they arrive, they're going to get a nice grooming -- so our agent asked us to send a picture of their coats.

Georgie is an Ori Pei dog we moved to Shanghai a couple of weeks ago, and many people were following her international pet travel story on our blog!
We were thrilled to get some great pictures of Georgie relaxing in her new condo in Shanghai today. She looks like she's enjoying her home and her owners tell us that she loves looking out the windows.

We moved Tommy and Pasha from Miami, Florida to Beijing, China. Our customer, Amela, sent us an email with these pictures saying "Our little Lola was so happy to see her puppies -- the puppies also danced with happiness!!"
It's so wonderful to see happy pets reunited with their owners -- especially when they're as cute as Lola!
For those of you who have been keeping up with Georgie, we wanted to let you know that she made it safely to Shanghai! Here is a picture of her upon arrival at the airport in China.
