Customer Pic: Meet Beau the Golden Retriever from India!

By Pet Relocation | September 17th, 2009

I try not to have too much of a bias, but I've gotta' say:  My heart belongs to Golden Retrievers!  I had one named Gus for thirteen years, and he was the best friend a girl could ask for!  So when our Asia Pacific specialist Jillian forwarded me these pictures yesterday, all I could say was "Awwwwwwwwwwww!"

Bangalore Airport to begin allowing import of pets with travelers again

By Pet Relocation | July 16th, 2009

This is an update to let all people moving with pets to India know that the Ministry of Agriculture has approved the following airports as "Pet Friendly Airports" in India.  It's worth mentioning that in India, "pets" are defined as domestic dogs and cats.

Most notable of this news is that Bangalore International Airport is now ready to begin receiving pets, which will benefit anyone wanting to travel to or from Bangalore with their pets!  The airport had stopped allowing pets arriving with passengers when they switched over to a new airport.

Shipping Pets to India: Why You Need a No Objection Certificate

By Pet Relocation | June 16th, 2009

Today we had a comment on our post titled "Moving Pets to India?  Be Prepared to Be Patient."  The anonymous commenter was accusing us of being  wrong about the requirements of a No Objection Certificate, and whether they are required in advance.  I thought the comment was worth posting in its own blog, given the fact that there is so much confusion surrounding pet moves to India (hence the title of the previous post).

Moving Pets to India? Be Prepared to Be Patient

By Rachel@PetRelocation | May 12th, 2009

Its a possibility that I may be thinking of relocating to Goa, India for a few years from the UK. However, i wuold only do this if it were possible to bring my animals with me without going through lengthy quarentine processes. I own cats, a dog and Sugar Gliders (a possum). Thanks, Roxy

Geography

India's northern and north-eastern states are partially situated in the Himalayan Range. The rest of northern, central, and eastern India consists of the fertile Indo-Gangetic Plain. In the west, bordering south-eastern Pakistan lies the Thar Desert. Southern India is almost entirely composed of the peninsular Deccan plateau, which is flanked by two hilly coastal ranges, the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats. India is home to several major rivers, including the Ganges, the Brahmaputra, the Yamuna, the Godavari, the Kaveri, the Narmada, and the Krishna. India has three archipelagos – Lakshadweep, which lies off the south-western coast; the volcanic Andaman and Nicobar Islands island chain to the south-east; and the Sunderbans in the Ganges Delta of West Bengal. The climate of India varies from tropical in the south to more temperate and even alpine in the Himalayan north, where elevated regions receive sustained winter snowfall. India's climate is strongly influenced by the Himalayas and the Thar Desert.

Climate

India's climate is defined by three seasons - the hot, the wet (monsoon) and the cool, each of which can vary in duration from north to south. The most pleasant time to visit most places is during the cooler period: November to around mid-February.

Moving to India with Pets!

India the land of gods and elephants has place for cats as well. The country has various cultures traditions and rituals followed in different places. There are few religions which have animals as their sacred animals and in such regions animals enjoy status of a god.

India and Pets!

The oldest civilizations of mankind existed in this region. India is a large democratic country, which is taking care of many religions, languages and cultures for ages. The contributions to Science and Mathematics from ancient Indian scientists are innumerable. The country has given birth to many religions like Buddhism, Jainism and continues to spread them internally and externally. A country that has the ability to bring peace to the world through its practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda India is a jewel of the world.

Dogs in India

Dogs are the most loyal creatures known to mankind. They laugh with you and cry with you and they understand your feelings. They accompany you anywhere you go and they just stay away when you don’t want them to be around. They are always around when you want them to lick your face and jump on you. They are just quiet when you want them to be so. They are very protective of you and never want to see anything going wrong. They walk proudly by your side and make you feel you own something.
