Will an EU Pet Passport be sufficient for entry to the US?

After two years in the Czech Republic, we are returning to the US with our cats. Does the EU pet passport, which each cat has, replace the health certificate requested by airlines? Our vet seems to think it does. There's a page that he would sign that says the animal is in good health and able to withstand carriage. Is he correct? Thank you.

Thanks for your inquiry. That page in your pet passport would be sufficient for entry in to the US, however it would probably be a good idea to check with the airline you are planning on flying ahead of time to make sure that the airline will accept the pet passport. Each airline has their own set of standards and rules, and they might require a separate health certificate (usually they want to be able to take a copy of the document for their recods). Happy travels!
