Pet Travel Question: Shipping a Dog to the Philippines

Hello PetRelocation,

What are the requirements for moving our dog overseas from the United States to the Philippines?

Thanks,

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your question. Check out the pet import requirements for the Philippines for an idea of what documentation is necessary in order to bring a dog into the Philippines.

You'll see that your dog will need a microchip, a rabies vaccination with certificate, and a health certificate issued by your vet within 10 days of your dog's flight. The trickiest part about the Philippines' import requirements is the fact that you'll need to get these documents endorsed by the USDA. Check here to find the location of your local branch of the USDA.

In addition to meeting these national import requirements, your airline will require you to purchase an airline-approved travel crate for your dog if you don't already own one. This is to ensure your dog's comfort and safety on the long flight to the Philippines.

Hopefully this starts you off in the right direction! If you'd like to learn more about our door-to-door pet transport services, fill out our online consultation form.

Thanks again for your question and good luck with your move!
