Number of Pets: 1
Pet Type: Rottweiler Puppy
From: Wisconsin
To: Puerto Rico

I would like to have a puppy shipped to Puerto Rico where I can collect it by boat and sail onwards in the Caribbean. The puppy will only be two months old, so it won't have had the rabies shot. Can I import the puppy into Puerto Rico without being a resident and effectively export the dog elsewhere within 1-2 days of arrival?

Hi Scott,

This sounds like a somewhat tricky situation, but we'll do our best to point you in the right direction! Here are the pet import guidelines for Puerto Rico, and you'll also need to check the import requirements for wherever you're planning to sail after Puerto Rico, as each country has its own set of pet import requirements. Since your puppy is too young to receive a rabies shot you should be okay to travel, but it's best to check with the proper Puerto Rican authorities before you go.

Good luck with everything, and please contact us if you need anything else!
