Subject: Water for cat travel crate
Question: Hello,
My cats are moving to Guam from Florida. Everything is arranged, but I can't find a water bottle to attach to the crate at a decent level I was looking for something shorter and square (like mini Dog Lixit) so they would not have to lay down to use it, or have it taller than the door and wobbly. Does anyone make something designed for a small Skykennel? I would like to give them extra water (beside a frozen dish) because the flight is incredibly long.
Also, if there isn't anything, do they allow a water bottle ziptied to the back end, I was thinking to offset so they wouldn't be impaled in turbulence.
Thanks, Nicole
Answer: Hello Nicole!
For a cat crate and in order to meet TSA restrictions, it looks like your best option is the dishes. You can attach two to the crate, and if you include little plastic funnels to the outside of the crate tilting inward into the dishes, the airline staff will be able to make sure your cat has plenty of water. The way we prepare the crates for pet flight is two dishes and a funnel for each dish attached with zip ties and a little tag on the crate that says "Please provide me with water." Especially if you have a layover, the airline staff will definitely see to it that your cat has plenty of water and is ok.

Hope this helps! Good luck on your move!
