Petrelocation.com - Last week we had three pets from three separate places pet travel to Bangkok, Thailand.

First up was Toby, a black lab who lived in Austin, Texas. His owner Doug was relocating to Thailand for work, and we were able to work with Doug's relocation company & recruiter to set up his dog's relocation. Toby may look small, at about 65 lbs., but we sent him in a #700 series SkyKennel so he had plenty of room during the flight. We drove Toby from Austin to Houston, and then he flew on KLM Airlines via Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, Toby got to stop at the Pet Hotel and get fed, fresh water, and walked. Toby arrived safely and Doug met our customs agents at the airport to take his dog home with him.

Then we had Mowgley, a rambunctious black cat going from the Fremont, CA area to Bangkok. His owner Lee is Sri Lankan and was moving to Thailand with his wife to work. They had originally planned on taking Mowgley as accompanied luggage but because of a delay in their move, they pushed their flight back and had us arrange Mowgley's transportation. They were worried that Mowgley might try to hide on the day of departure, so I suggested they keep him in the bathroom or another small room during the day so he wouldn't run off. I can't tell you how many cats we have planned on transporting, and then arrived at the owner's house on the day of the flight and the owners inform us that their cat is MIA (usually they find them a few days later, and we reschedule the flight!). Mowgley flew from San Francisco (SFO) to Thailand via Amsterdam as well -- he also got to stop at the Pet Hotel in Amsterdam!

I always love it when this happens: Mowgley stopped in Amsterdam and joined my other client, Alex the West Highland Terrier, on his flight from Amsterdam to Bangkok. Alex originated in the Big Apple -- New York City -- and left the same day as Mowgley. Alex's owner Carolyn is a photographer and a documentary filmmaker and is doing some projects in Bangkok. She's also done some really great work on the Hong Kong Dog Rescue from when she was living in Hong Kong! Alex had lived in Hong Kong for some time as well. Carolyn sent us this great photo of Alex after he arrived and got a bath at his new home!

I love getting pictures of the pets we move -- it adds a face to a microchip number, and reminds me what we're here for!
