There's a new pet friendly social networking site that may not tell you which one of your friends are getting married next week, but instead helps conservationists save gorrillas.

From the New York Times writeup:

For a minimum donation of $1, subscribers will be able track the pet travel movements of individual gorillas through a custom-made Web site. Strategically placed cameras in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest will stream video footage of gorillas to audiences worldwide.

Through the Ugandan Wildlife Authority's new site, they hope to raise an additional $700,000 a year to help protect and conserve gorilla species.  Read more of the article here.
