There's a new cat in town -- a new pet resort, that is!

We just added a new pet resort to our South Africa Pet Import listing (under the "Living" section) after their manager, Barbara, emailed us with information on her pet friendly services.

They arrange pet boarding at a comfortable pet lodge, with plenty of space for pets to roam and play, in Midrand, South Africa.  They also offer quarantine for pets traveling to Australia.

Check out the Paws Resort website for more details and contact information.

Please note that Paws resort and its owner Barbara Coward are under investigation by the Veterinary Council, for animal abuse to my two Dobermanns who were in quarantine there and arrived in Australia six months later in shocking condition. Please see blacklistings on the SACBR website for more information, the photo will stun you.

The big male went into quarantine weighing 48kg and six months later looked like a dog that had not seen food in months, he then weighed 27kg on arrival at Eastern Creek quarantine kennels in May 2010. A private veterinary report has concluded that starvation was the cause of his and my female Dobermanns weight loss as Coward attempted to state they both lost weight for health reasons. This has been ruled out as both pets have regained almost full weight since being reunited with me and out of quarantine since June. The male Tosca is now back to 41.6kg and the female a more healthy 34.5kg. Beware of this facility and its owner Barbara Coward. The investigation into her and her dodgy quarantine facility is ongoing.

Helen, Do you have the latest detail on this issue. My 2 dogs have been there for 2 months and have another 4 left. I have already paid a big amount of money to the resort and would not want the same to happen to my dogs. Where can I get more info on the current investigation?

Hi Drikus. Very sad that your pets are in that disgusting place, but since I shook that Cowards womans world with investigations, hopefully yours will be ok. Please watch your pets very, very carefully and if they suddenly die, then tell coward you want photos of the animal and an autopsy to show their condition. The Veterinary Council of South Africa are still conducting the investigation into her appalling facility and her incredible ignorance. If you type in http://purzandpawz.wordpress.com/2010/05/25/paws-resort/ you will see a huge part of the story and the terrifying pictures. This is a genuine and legitimate case against an abuser an a creature that should not be allowed to look after a plastic animal, never mind a much loved live one. Watch her and demand photos of your pets weekly..... she is a snake and does not take any responsibility for her actions even when the photos speak for themselves. Thats why I want this story passed to as many people as possible. The quarantine part of that facility should be closed, coward is dangerous in her negligence and astounding ignorance. Contact me for further advice. Oh, and by the way, the coward creature did not reimburse me one blue bean towards the food that was NOT fed to my two children...... have no idea what happened to the money that was supposed to be for their food, but they certainly never got fed.
