Petrelocation.com - Thirty-eight percent of participants in our poll, asking what kind of puppy people think the Obama family should get, responded that the next First Dog should be "A pound puppy - a mixed breed pup!" The next most popular choice was close behind, with 29% of the vote saying he should get "a lap-dog/designer dog -- Bichon Frise, Maltese, Cocker Spaniel, Maltipoo, etc." This might have something to do with the hypoallergenic qualities commonly found in poodles and poodle mixes, which would be ideal for his daughter who has allergies.

Well, President-elect Obama might agree with the people who voted for a mixed-breed dog. In his first press conference as President-elect, he fielded a question about what type of dog they should get.

"Obviously, a lot of shelter dogs are mutts like me," Obama said at the press conference . "So whether we're going to be able to balance those two things, I think, is a pressing issue on the Obama household."
