How Do I Choose the Right Size Dog Travel Crate?

Selecting the correct travel crate size for your pet is as easy as ABC! 

Below is a visual guide to the ABC's of pet travel crates, modeled by PetRelocation.com's favorite Labradoodle, Aussie!

  • Crate is tall enough for pet to stand up comfortably
  • Pet is not having to duck to see out of the crate.

  • Crate is too short for pet to stand up straight.
  • Pet is ducking to see out.

Width

  • Wide enough for pet to turn around comfortably.

  • Not wide enough for pet to turn around comfortably.

Length

  • Long enough for pet to lie down comfortably with paws extended.

How Do I Measure My Pet?

If you can't get to a pet store to try your pet's travel crate on for size, you can still find your pet's correct crate size by using the following crate measuring guidelines.

Measure the length of your pet when standing from the base of his tail to the tip of his nose.
Measure the  length of your pet when standing from the floor to the top of his head.
Add 4" to Measurement A.Add 4" to Measurement B.
