OMAN IMPORT RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
1. All animals need to be implanted with a microchip: Compatible with international standards   Â(ISO 11784/11785).
2.  All animals need to have Full Vaccinations: Dogs: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Leptospirosis, (DHLPP) and Rabies within the last 12 months or a minimum of 4 weeks before arrival. Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (FVRCP), and Rabies within the last 12 months or a minimum of 4 weeks before arrival. The Vaccination Stickers need to appear on the vaccine card. THIS IS A MUST!!   If your vet cannot release the vaccine stickers, you will have to find a vet that will. 3. Apply for the import permit: Your PetRelocation.com Specialist will do this on your behalf. It is required that all vaccine stickers are shown in order to obtain the import permit. Copies will suffice for the purpose of obtaining the import permit, however the originals must arrive with the pet or the animal maybe sent back to the country of origin. 4. APHIS form 7001 issued within 7 days of departure: Your vet should have these in stock. It’s a good idea to call ahead and ask. This is an international health certificate that needs to be completed by your vet and sent to the USDA for the correct endorsement. Speak to your PetRelocation.com specialist regarding the USDA portion of this process as certain packages have this included. 5. All original documentation must travel with the pets.ÂÂ

Geography
The Sultanate of Oman lies at the south-western edge of the Arabian peninsula with borders covering approximately 300,000 kms and is sparsely populated.The Geographical coordinates are 21 00 N, 57 00 E. It has the total area of 212,460 sq km including land area of 212,460 sq km and water of 0 sq km.
The coastline runs for some 1,700 kms by the Arabian Sea through. The distance from the capital, Muscat, on the northern coast to the southern city of Salalah is about 1,300 kms. Geographical features of Oman include a unique geology with spectacular mountain ranges in both the north and south, reaching a height of 3,075 metres at Jebel Akhdar just north-west of Muscat. There are beautiful, unspoiled beaches with white sands stretching for miles and plenty of opportunity for scuba diving, snorkelling and swimming. Nature-lovers can observe a variety of birds and the famous green turtles at Ras al Hadd south of Sur on the furthermost tip of the Oman coast.
The mountain areas abound with a network of wadis with lovely green alpine pools, often shaded by date palms. The golden dunes of the Wahiba Sands are popular for camping under the stars. The famous Rub al Khali, the Empty Quarter, covers the south-western part of the Interior. In the south eastern corner of the Sultanate, near the Yemeni border on the Arabian Sea, lies the garden city of Salalah with coconut and banana groves, watered by monsoons. Border countries are Saudi Arabia 676 km, UAE 410 km, Yemen 288 km.
