Thank you for your question. We're happy to offer some tips for your upcoming trip -- congratulations on your marriage, by the way!
When traveling domestically with your dog, you'll need to attend to a few things:
Secure an airline approved travel crate that is the correct size. Here's a guide to help you choose the right pet travel crate.
Book a flight on a pet friendly airline. (We often use United or Delta for domestic pet travel.)
Follow the airline's pet requirements, which most likely means making sure your dog has an up-to-date rabies vaccine and a vet health certificate stating Harvey is healthy and fit to fly. Your vet needs to sign off on this within 10 days of flying. (Note that you'll need a new certificate on your return trip if you stay longer than 10 days.)
Routing can be tricky if you're not flying into a major hub, so do a little research as soon as possible to find out what your options are. You may end up needing to drive Harvey to or from a bigger city if smaller airports and smaller planes can't accommodate him.
