Pet Friendly Airline Series: Flying Pets with Continental

Welcome to the third week of our Pet Friendly Airline Series! School is out (or will be soon) and temperatures are rising, so now is the perfect time to take a look at various travel options you may soon be considering for the summer season.

Whether you're in the planning stages of a big move or counting down the days to your dream vacation, you might be tackling the question of how to fly with your pet. Hopefully our airline overview will help you figure out the best route to take... So far we've spotlighted JetBlue and Lufthansa, and this week we're taking a look at Continental airlines, a carrier that PetRelocation.com often uses to move pets.

We'll learn more as the week goes on, but to start things off, here's a brief overview of Continental Airlines:

-Continental has been operating since 1934. It was founded in Pueblo, CO but its headquarters are currently located in Houston, TX.

-Continental operates domestically and internationally, and its four main hubs are Newark Liberty International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport.

-"Work Hard, Fly Right" is the airline's marketing slogan.

-Continental has made efforts to make their operations more environmentally-friendly over the last few years, and it has been recognized by the EPA for using methods that are better for the earth than traditional ones.

-Continental does not accept pets as checked baggage. Rather, they have implemented a pet program to fly them in the cargo section of the plane. Under certain circumstances, small pets can also fly in the cabin.
