AllExperts Question:  Moving Rabbits to Greece

Name: Koula

Subject: Moving to Greece; taking my two pet rabbits

Question: Hi, I'm moving to Greece and I want to take with me my two dwarf rabbits. I would like to know what papers I need to have, any reports from the vet and what the quarantine law in Greece says about bringing rabbits to the country.are they staying in the quarantine and if so for how long? Thank you.

Answer: Hello! To get your two rabbits to Greece, coming from Australia, all you need is a form called Annex 27 to the EU Certificate (from the EU Journal of Regulations), which needs to be completed (by a government endorsed vet) and endorsed by the AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services) within 4 days of departure. Nothing else other than a standard health certificate is required, and there is no quarantine time for rabbits (because they do not get rabies vaccinations).
