Due to the extremely cold temperatures lingering across much of the United States this week, pet air travel (and often travel in general) continues to be placed on hold.
For example, we've been told that United's PetSafe program will be restricted for the following:
To/From ORD (Chicago O'Hare International Airport) through Tuesday, 1/7
To/From CLE (Cleveland Hopkins International Airport) through Tuesday, 1/7
To/From EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport) through Wednesday, 1/8
To/from IAD (Washington Dulles International Airport) through Wednesday, 1/8
Other cities and other airlines have been affected as well, so double check your scheduled pet cargo flights and don't be surprised if you end up flying a few days from now, instead.
In the meantime, don't forget to take good care of your pets by following these cold weather pet safety tips, and if you're feeling frustrated, remember that part of being a savvy pet traveler is aiming to be flexible.
Stay warm and safe, everyone, and please contact us if you have any questions about pet travel!
