Costa Rica Airport Closing Dates for Holidays
Costa Ricas main terminal for accepting live animals (Juan Santa Maria) is going to be closed from December 20th-January 5th. During this time the Ministry of Agriculture (MAG) will be on holiday and not permit the entry or exit of any live animals with the exception of animals accompanying their pets as checked baggage. All of the customs brokers and reservation offices for animals will also be closed.
Please do NOT send any pets as manifest cargo to Costa Rica after the 19th of this month. They will be stuck in the customs warehouse with no one to take care of them until things open back up in January.
