I will get an Alaskan Malamute within 2 years, and I'm trying to get ahead of time to know how the shipping things go. If I want to ship my dog from Abilene, TX, to Hong Kong or Shanghai, what would I need to know? And about how much will I pay for your service? Thank you so much!

Hi Chen!  It's great that you're planning ahead for buying a dog and then moving your new dog to China or Hong Kong.  It helps quite a bit in the long run to have a plan for how you will ship your pet and what pet travel arrangements will need to be made before flying your dog!
The most important thing you'll need to make sure of is that you vaccinate your dog for rabies and then keep him up to date.  Both China and Hong Kong require current rabies vaccinations in order to enter the country and they also require pets to have gotten rabies vaccinations at least 30 days prior to import.
Next, you'll want to get a pet travel crate and start getting your dog used to spending time in it.  This can really help your dog when it comes to his stress levels on the flight.
Eventually you'll need to make a decision on whether you want to fly your dog into Hong Kong or Shanghai, as this will affect the rest of the pet import requirements.  You can take a look at the Pet Travel Requirements for China as well as the Pet Travel Requirements for Hong Kong on our website.
As far as pricing for our services, each pet move is unique and requires a bit more information (like your pick up address and delivery address, as well as your pet's weight and size) in order to put together an accurate estimate.  However on average, our international moves start at around $2500 USD for our door-to-door services (this includes all paperwork as well as your pet's flight).  We'd be happy to provide you with a more exact estimate once you have your dog and some more specifics on the move!
Good luck and of course if you need any assistance with arranging your dog's move, PetRelocation.com is happy to help!
