Moving Pets to Thailand?  Note these dates!

If your planning on moving your pets to Thailand, please note that their Chakri Memorial Day and Thai New Year will be celebrated by the locals on the following 5 days - We strongly recommend that you do not import your pets to Thailand during these days as most, if not all, government offices will be closed, etc.

April 7 - Substitution for Chakri Memorial Day
April 13 - Maha Songkran Day ( The day to mark the end of the old year)
April 14 - Wan Nao ( The last day of the old year)
April 15 - Wan Thaloeng Sok (New year begins)
April 16 - Substitution for Maha Songkran Day

"Songkran" is a Thai traditional New Year which lasts for 3 days. It is also known as the water FestivalӔ as people believe that water will wash away bad luck.

The Songkran Tradition is recognized as a valuable custom for the Thai community, society & religions. The value for family is to provide the opportunity for family members to gather in order to express their respects to the elders by pouring scented water onto the hands of their parents & grand parents & to present them gifts including making merits to dedicate the result of their ancestors. The elders in return wish the youngsters good luck & prosperity!

What a great tradition and country!
