Pet Friendly Airline Series: JetBlue Honors its Most-Traveled Pet and Announces a Pet Photo Twitter Contest

It's a lucky coincidence that the week we decided to cover JetBlue's pet-friendly services is the same week they're making a big announcement!

May is National Pet Awareness Month, and JetBlue is celebrating pets and their owners by holding a contest that will raise funds for charity. All this month, for every pet picture that's uploaded to Twitter using the hashtag #JetPaws, JetBlue will donate $2 to the Millan Foundation.

The Millan Foundation was established in 2007 by Caesar Millan and works to promote animal welfare and educate the community. More information about the contest and the Foundation can be found at www.jetblue.com/petcontest.

JetBlue pledges to give up to $10,000 to the foundation, and the person who submits the best photo will win a grand prize vacation package to Hotel Palomar in Los Angeles. JetBlue crewmembers will vote on the winning photo, and originality and creativity are the qualities to aim for.

JetBlue has also taken this opportunity to announce the Most-Traveled Pet of 2010 -- Moose, a one-year-old Maltese Poodle, has flown more than 20 times over the past few months, and he's being honored with a California vacation as well.

Surely all you pet-lovers out there are ready to snap some pics of your furry little travelers (we love how you often share your cute pet pictures with us!). It's not every day you get to show off and donate to a great cause at the same time, however... Good luck everyone!

Remember to keep checking in with us all month for more information about JetBlue and the other airlines we'll be featuring in our Pet Friendly Airline Series.
