Pet-Friendly Colleges: A Growing Trend

Ready or not, summer vacation is drawing to a close and students everywhere are getting ready to return to their more scholarly pursuits. In honor of back-to-school season, we'll be taking a closer look at a growing trend in college life that we here at PetRelocation most certainly approve of: more are more universities are allowing students to keep pets on campus.

Thanks to designated pet-friendly dorms and thoughtful pet policies, many students can now enjoy an easier transition into college life. Especially for freshmen who are probably leaving home for the very first time, the option to bring a pet (who is probably part best-friend, part family member) can be comforting, anxiety-reducing and a lot of fun.

Over the next few days, we'll be taking a closer look at the options available to students at various universities around the country and spotlighting the top schools that make pets a part of college life.

First up is Eckerd College, located in St. Petersburg, FL. This school has set the standard for pet-friendly colleges, and tomorrow we'll be interviewing the Staff Adviser to their Pet Council. Your pet-friendly college education is about to begin!
