Pet Travel Q&A: Rules for EU Pet Travel

Hi There,

I was wondering if there is a limit on how many animals we can bring into Germany. We have three small dogs and would like to bring all three. I'm assuming we would be able to bring all three but just want to make sure.

Thanks,

Madison

Hi Madison,

Thank you for your question! According to the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, up to five pets may be imported into Germany per person, so yes, you will be able to bring your three dogs with you.

We advise following the link above to find out more about the various rules and requirements and suggest allowing at least 30 days to prepare. It's also important to choose a pet safe airline, devote time to crate training before the dog's flight, and to look ahead to your destination in order to find a vet, pet stores, etc. Take a look at our essential pet travel tips for a quick overview of these items.

If you decide you're interested in hiring assistance with your dogs' relocation, please contact us for a pet travel consultation.

Hope this helps to get you started, Madison. Good luck with everything!
