Pet Travel Question: Dogs in the Cabin?

I would like to travel with my pet in the cabin however, I am not sure she is small enough to fit under the seat. She weighs almost 10 lbs and is approximately 22 inches long.

Hi Maria,

Thank you for the question! A dog of that size may not be able to fly in the cabin with you, but for a definitive answer it's best to contact the airline with which you'll be flying.

It's totally understandable that you'd like your dog to travel in the cabin, however it's important to be aware that pets travel safely and comfortably in the cargo area of the plane all the time without incident. Choosing a pet-friendly airline and doing your best to prepare for the trip with crate training, vet visits, etc... will help to make the journey a success. For a little more perspective, take a look at our previous discussions on cabin vs. cargo travel.

Please contact us if you have any more questions, and good luck with everything!
