Pet Travel Question: Exporting a kitten from Spain

Pet: Persian kitten
This lovely kitten was given to us as a gift from a friend in Spain. We need to bring it back to England with us when it is old enough to leave its mother. We assume it will be by train and / or ferry, although we would consider flying. The cat's comfort and safety is paramount.

These are the pet import requirements for the UK, but please note that they are set to change Jan. 1, 2012 (at which time they will mirror the rest of the EU).
