Pet Travel Question: Flying With A Service Dog to the United States

Name: Benjamin
Estimated Move Date: October 1
From: Bocas del Toro, Panama
To: Las Vegas, NV
Pet: His name is Waffle. He is a Jack Russel/Chihuahua, a year and a half old, and he weighs 6 pounds.

I am flying to Las Vegas one way with my service dog and was wondering what I need to do that properly? Flying him in here was a pain with the health certificate and all but that was four months ago. I was just wondering do I need to go through the same headache? Waffle needs to come, too! What do I do?

Thanks,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for contacting us with your pet travel question. The pet import requirements for the United States are a little less strict than the rules for Panama. Take a look to make sure you're ready to go (basically you need an up-to-date rabies vaccine and health certificate), double check with your airline about their procedures, and please contact us with any further questions.

Good luck! We hope you and Waffles enjoy Las Vegas!
