I have a few questions about the process of flying. How do they fly the dogs over? Do the dogs get hungry? How do I pick up my dog after the flight?

Thank You,
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

Your questions are understandable! It can be hard to wrap your brain around what a pet move actually entails. For long international flights, we often break the trip into two parts; often we try to route through Lufthansa's Animal Lounge in Frankfurt so that pets have a chance to get out, stretch their legs and eat a meal.

We advise choosing a pet-friendly airline with a temperature-controlled cargo area. Flying beneath the plane offers a safe environment, and airlines (such as Continental, KLM and a few others) with solid pet policies in place will make sure that pets are the last ones on the plane and the first ones off.

If you hire PetRelocation.com to handle your move, we will deliver your dog safely to your door. If you choose to do the move yourself, you'll be the one to take him through the customs process upon arrival.

If you have more questions (which is understandable), you're welcome to request a free quote from us. You can also take a look at the pet import requirements for the UAE for an idea of what you need to do to get started. Good luck with everything!
