I see on the Department of Fisheries and Food website that I need to use an approved carrier, of which the only one listed from North America to Dublin is Aer Lingus. On the Aer Lingus website they indicate that you must go through the animal transport company Pet Express. Is this the only courier available to me? Can I do this process by myself without a courier or middle man? Thank you, -L.
Thanks for submitting a question to us! It's important to choose a pet-friendly airline and to meet all pet import requirements for Ireland, however it's not necessary to go through Pet Express or any other relocation company. Many people choose to hire some help in order to more efficiently handle pet travel requirements in the midst of a stressful move, but it's also possible to do it by yourself.
We invite you to take a look at our website to find various relocation tips and advice, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions. One of our Relocation Specialists would be happy to advise you.
