Pet Travel Question: Moving a Dog to the UAE

Name: Christine
Number of Pets: 1
Pet Type: Dog
Pet Breed: Dachshund
From: Switzerland
To: UAE

Hello,

Would my dog, (assuming all the papers and vaccines were in order) have to be quarantined in the UAE when I arrive with him? If so, for how long? Is there an age limit in terms of how young the dog can be?

Thank you,

Christine

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your questions. Take a look at the import requirements for the United Arab Emirates. You'll notice that there is no quarantine required for pets entering the UAE, assuming they meet all of the import requirements and have proper documentation. This page on the Abu Dhabi government website states that pets must be at least four months old in order to enter the UAE.
