Pet Travel Question: Moving Dogs to Haiti

Name: Shyla
Number of Pets: 1
Pet Type: Dog
Pet Breed:  Bernese Mountain Dog
From:  Florida
To: Haiti

Technically the dog is currently in Oklahoma, but is being driven to Florida and then will fly out of Miami to Haiti in October.  I don’t see that there are any travel requirements for dogs to Haiti…is that right?

Thanks,
Shyla

Hi Shyla,

Thank you for your question. Here are the pet import requirements for Haiti—you’ll need a vet health certificate issued within seven days of traveling as well as an up-to-date rabies vaccination. We also recommend a microchip, and be sure to choose a pet-friendly airline that will take your dog’s safety seriously.

Please contact us if you have any more questions about routes or travel crates, and good luck with the trip!

I understand what I need to take my malti-poo in to Haiti, we will be their three months June through August. What needs to be done to prepare for our return to the states with our dog?
