Pet Travel Question: Moving to Australia

Name: Shirley
Number of Pets: Two
Pet Type: Dogs
Pet Breed: Labrador
From: Danang, Vietnam
To: Sydney, Australia

What is the best and most cost-effective way to bring both dogs back to Sydney? Will there be a quarantine involved and if so, for how long? Thanks, -Shirley

Hi Shirley,

Because it's rabies-free, Australia is one of the more restrictive countries when it comes to importing pets. The process to gain entry will take at least 150 days, and a 30-day quarantine must then be carried out upon arrival.

We also recently wrote a guest post about moving pets to Australia on ExpatArrivals.com, and if you still have any questions, we encourage you to contact us at any time. Moving pets can be stressful, and our Pet Relocation Specialists are here to help!

Good luck, Shirley, and keep in touch!
