Hi GB! Great question. We recently covered this topic on our blog -- there are essentially two different kinds of pet insurance (travel insurance and general coverage) and a variety of plans are available. Insurance is not required when you travel but some people choose to obtain it, so it'll be up to you to do a little research and talk to your vet to figure out the right choice for you and your dog.
