Pet Travel Question: Pets Flying Without Their Owners

dogArranging Unaccompanied Pet Air Travel

Hi PetRelocation,

Can I ship my pets without actually taking a flight with them?

Best,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

The short answer is: yes. In fact, most of the moves we handle are for pets traveling without their owners. If you won't be flying with your dogs, you will have to arrange for someone to take your dogs to the airport in L.A. and to meet them once they land in Taiwan. This can be either a friend or a hired pet travel agent.

If you are arranging your own pet move and you think you'd like to hire a professional pet ground transporter to get your dogs to the airport and back, check out IPATA. Alternatively, if you think you would like help planning your entire pet move (including flight and ground transportation), fill out our online consultation form to find out about our door-to-door services.

While you're here, be sure to check out Taiwan's pet import requirements to gather an idea of what documents you will need before shipping your pets. And if you want to read about dogs we have recently helped move to Taiwan, be sure to check out one of our past Pet Moves of the Month.

Thanks for your question and good luck with your move!
