Pet Travel Questions: Is there a quarantine?

Hi, I just want to know how long will my dog have to stay in quarantine if I want to bring her from South Africa to America? And how do most dogs fare on international flights?

Thanks for your questions. Pet import rules for the US do not include a quarantine -- you just need to meet a few basic requirements (rabies certificate, health certificate, etc.) and then you'll be free to bring your dog home with you upon arrival. We advise that you choose a pet-friendly airline to ensure that your dog enjoys a smooth trip. We have flown many dogs from South Africa, and it's a safe journey to make as long as the proper preparations (such as choosing the right travel crate, for example) have been made.
