“What do my dogs need for our move to Alaska?”

Name: Brandi
Number of Pets: 2
Pet Type: Dogs
Pet Breed: Boxer Mix & Yorkie
From: Georgia
To: Alaska

Are there any special requirements for moving two dogs from Georgia to Alaska by air with my family and myself?

Thanks,

Brandi

Hi Brandi,

Thanks for your question. Domestic pet travel isn't too complicated; you'll just need to have vet health certificates issued within 10 days of departure (this essentially assures the airline that your vet says your dogs are fit to fly), and your dogs should be up to date on their rabies vaccines.

We recommend choosing a pet friendly airline such as United, who has an established PetSafe program, and you'll want to be careful about choosing the correct travel crates so your dogs will fly as comfortably as possible. Read more about airline-approved travel crates here.

Please let us know if you have any more questions, and good luck with your move!
